Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to buy or subscribe, we may receive a commission. You pay exactly the same price either way.
This page exists because the US Federal Trade Commission requires it, but the disclosure we actually rely on is the one next to the link itself: every paid link on this site is labelled at the point where you might click it, not only here.
What being paid does not buy
No company pays for coverage, a rating, a placement, or a revision. We choose what to write about based on what the creators we follow are covering and what our readers are searching for — never on which programme pays best.
Plenty of the tools we write about have no affiliate programme at all, and we cover them the same way. When we link to one of those, the link is a plain link, with none of the commercial framing a paid link gets. The difference is visible on the page.
What we will not do
- Recommend a tool we would not use ourselves, for any commission rate.
- Suppress a drawback because a vendor pays us.
- Present a paid link as an editorial one.
- Accept payment to remove or soften criticism.
Programmes we participate in
We participate in affiliate programmes run directly by software vendors and through networks including PartnerStack, Impact, and ShareASale. As a member of the Amazon Associates programme, we earn from qualifying purchases.
Advertising
We also carry display advertising. Ads are sold programmatically, which means we do not choose the individual advertisers and an advertiser appearing on a page implies no relationship with, or endorsement of, that advertiser. Advertising is always visually separated from editorial content and labelled.
Questions
If anything about how a link or a piece of content is presented seems unclear, tell us and we will fix it. See About for contact details.
